CNX Message
Display important announcements and schedule when they appear and when they expire.
Overview
CNX Message puts important announcements where people will see them, and takes care of the timing for you. Schedule a message to appear on a set date and to stop appearing when it expires, so pages never show out-of-date news.
Use it for service notices, policy reminders, event announcements and anything else with a clear start and end.
Features
- Scheduled publishing. Choose when a message starts to appear, so you can prepare announcements ahead of time.
- Automatic expiry. Set an expiry date and the message stops appearing on its own, with no clean-up required.
- Prominent placement. Show announcements at the top of a page or section, where people are most likely to notice them.
Configuration
Configure CNX Message in the property pane: with the page in edit mode, select the web part, then select Edit web part (the pencil icon).

Usage
Once the package is deployed to your tenant, add CNX Message to a modern SharePoint page:
Open the page and select Edit.
Hover where you want the web part to appear and select the + (Add a new web part) button.
Search for CNX Message and select it.
Open the property pane, write the message and set its start and expiry dates.
Select Republish to share your changes.
Examples
IT service notice
Announce planned maintenance a week ahead and have the notice disappear once the work is complete.
Benefits enrolment reminder
Remind employees of a deadline only while the enrolment window is open.
Best practices
- Keep messages short and lead with what people need to do.
- Always set an expiry date so announcements don't outlive their relevance.
- Reserve the web part for important information; if everything is urgent, nothing is.
